The Income Tax Bar Association Members Benevolent Scheme is a welfare initiative created to extend immediate financial support to the family of a deceased member. This scheme reflects our Association’s deep-rooted values of unity, care, and collective responsibility.
Eligibility
Only Regular Members of the Income Tax Bar Association (below the age of 50 years) are eligible to join the scheme. Nominal Members are not eligible. However, members who enrolled in the scheme before 01/04/2013 can continue to participate and receive all associated benefits regardless of age.
Contribution Structure
Each participating member contributes ₹250 on the demise of any scheme member. To streamline support, an advance contribution of ₹1,000 is collected, which covers financial assistance for four such cases. After four payouts, an additional ₹1,000 is collected for future cases.
Members may also opt to pay in lump sums, ₹5,000 or any amount in multiples of ₹1,000 at their discretion.
Benefits
In the event of a member’s death, a financial assistance of ₹2,25,000 is paid to the nominee. The payment is made upon submission of the member’s death certificate along with a formal application by the nominee. If the family is unaware of the scheme, any committee member or scheme participant may notify the Association. Upon verification, the benefit will still be extended.
How to Contribute
Contributions can be made via cheque in favour of “Income Tax Bar Association – Benevolent” and sent to the Association’s office. Members may also use the e-payment facility through the Association’s official website.
Each life member is assigned a unique membership number under this fund.
This scheme is more than financial aid – it’s a reflection of our community spirit, ensuring no family is left unsupported in times of loss.
