Established in 1947, the Income Tax Bar Association, Ahmedabad (ITBA) is one of India’s oldest and most esteemed professional associations. With over 1,200 members including Tax Advocates, Chartered Accountants, and Tax Professionals, ITBA has been a stronghold of legal and tax expertise for more than seven decades.
Our mission extends beyond serving the professional interests of our members. ITBA plays a pivotal role in educating the public on tax laws, advocating for taxpayer rights, and acting as a trusted link between citizens and government authorities. The Association frequently organizes seminars, lectures, webinars, and study circle meetings to promote legal awareness and continuous learning.
We host signature events such as the annual Two Day Tax Conclave and regularly engage in outreach programs and open house discussions with the Income Tax Department. Our publications like IT Mirror, Compilations, and other regular updates, serve as vital resources for members and professionals alike. With active social media reach, now the association has nationwide reach increasing day by day.
ITBA has also been proactive in voicing the concerns of taxpayers at the highest levels. We have made formal representations to the Finance Minister and the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), advocating for fair policies and smoother compliance processes.
In a changing tax landscape that includes Direct Tax, Indirect Taxes, and allied laws, ITBA remains committed to professional growth, public service, and constructive dialogue with authorities. Beyond technical forums, we also organize domestic and international Residential Refresher Courses (RRCs) and cultural events that foster connection and knowledge-sharing within our community.
